Maori Challenge - Counting

LI: To count up and down in maori.

Miss Pryde always send maori challenges for the whole school to compete in.This weeks task was to count in maori up and down. But the trick was we had to do action when we counted up and down.We  had to say the numbers like : Tahi , tahi , rua , tahi , rua toru, rua , tahi. I completed this task with Sakshi and liletina 

Division DLO

LI: To use the strategy of  long division.

For this task we learnt how to do long division. We had to learn each step of long division.After we learnt about long division we had to make a DLO to show people how to do long division. We had an example and instruction of how to do long division. I completed this task with lily and jayden. 

 

Art With David

LI: To show our C.A.R.E Values.

David from LS1 had emailed Mrs Anderson offered to take an art class on Tuesdays afternoon.
This was to help him gain confidence and share his skills with us. He taught is how to doodle in simple shapes such as swirly lines and curves. We used sketch pencils to lightly draw the design. I liked that he had the confidence to ask a year 7 & 8 teacher to take an art class.I enjoyed sketching my designs.

Netball | CARE Award

LI: To enter a competition.

For this task we had to enter a competition. I chose to enter a netball competition for school and for howick pakuranga netball club.I did this because I want to become more good a defence when play netball and so I could continue to be confident with sport and other things.

Stand Up To bullies

LI: To stand up to bullies

This task was about how to show kids what to do when you are facing someone who is bullying you.This task showed what you could do. This task was fun to make also i could help kids face bullying.

C.A.R.E. Awards - Confident | Doctor Jeff

LI; To interview a Person with the job you like.

For this trask I could complete my C.A.R.E awards.This task was about to interview a person with a job the you like. I chose Doctor Jeff rocky mountain. Not just because of what jobs he has but because how he does his job. I like him because I love that he help animals restore their health back to 100 persent. 

Maths Challenge

LI: To find the most efficient strategy to answer the question

This week our group practiced finding the answer to written maths questions. To do this we needed to first find the numbers we were working with. We decided the most efficient strategy was to use our times table knowledge. Being able to find how many groups of a number made this strategy efficient.

Reading | Protest

LI: To form an opinion.

After reading our text we looked at the protests in Aotearoa over time. We decided as a group that the women's suffrage was the most important protest because it meant women were seen as equal after NZ won the right for women to vote first. This is our opinion after sharing our ideas and reading the information.

Blog Post Analysis 2017 2020

LI: To analyse our blog post data to help us set blogging goals.

I used the statistical information on my blog to help me set goals for 2020. Before I could publish a blog post I need to complete the task.I worked the average number of post I made for each month and used this data to set a realistic and achieving blogging goal.

C.A.R.E Awards | Confident | Task 5

For this task I completed my CARE Awards for my confident. This was the last task. Me and liletina went to room six and we taught them how to play octopus and invisible touch. This task was really fun and great to be teaching little kids things. This task was a bit challenging because the kids didn't listen to me and liletina so we had to wait for their teacher to fix things.

Summarising | Reading

LI: To explain in fewer words what the text is about.

For reading we were to complete a summarising DLO.We were given text to read and fill out this DLO, the text was about protest, because in previous week we were learning about why people protest. Protesting is a huge part of N.Z History. So after we read the text we had to summarize the text in fewer sentences. 

Three Novels

For this task I read three novels under one author.I was reading all the book of wimpy kid. I loved reading all of it because I had something to do in the lockdown.The author of the wimpy kid is Jeff kinney. I really love the books he writes.His story are so funny I would love to meet the author in person and tell him I love reading his books. 

Lisa Carrington | CARE AWARDS

This task was for my CARE AWARDS for excellence and innovation. We had to chose one person who shows innovation and I chose Lisa Carrington. This task was fun but really challenging once I started.I had to use my smart searching skills for find the information I needed.Lisa carrington has really showed excellence and Innovation in her life of flatwater canoeing.

Kowhaiwhai Patterns - Maori God Symbols

LI: To To design a kowhaiwhai pattern for our PBS Te Reo Blog.

A Kowhaiwhai pattern is a traditional piece of art from the maori culture. You would mostly find them in a wharenui where they have traditional meetings.They are important because the maori people use them to tell stories. I have the water symbol, war symbol, and the earth symbol.Theses are the maori gods and the plants of the maori cultural.The colours I have used was red,blue,green.and white.

Achieved Goals - Excellence Innovation

This is my fourth task of my CARE Award badge for my Excellence and Innovation batch. The most difficult goal for me is to achieve CARE Award badges as, to complete the task I need a lot of time and hard work. While doing this activity I came to know the importance of setting goals as they help us by pushing forward.

Inference - Reading

LI: To infer imformation using clues in the image and our prior knowledge to explain what might be happening 

The article we read helped us make inferences about NZ history through images that were taken a long time ago. After reading the text we worked collaboratively and used our inferring skills to think about what was happening in the photo and behind the scenes.

Six Photo - Readings

LI: To infer what the questions about and to look at the images.

For this task we had to answer all the questions about the text we read called Six photos.We worked in our reading groups.We had to look at each photo then infer and answer the question. For example we had a photo with a dog and a cat. The question was what do you see and we wrote the dog and the cat.

Motivational Quotes

LI: To find a motivational quotes.

For this task I found three famous people and one of their motivational quotes.The three people i picked was Nelson Mandela,Martin Luther King and Albert einstein. This task was really interesting when I found the quotes.My most favourite quote was all three because they have a powerful meaning and understanding. 

Personal Passion - Excellence And Innovation

LI: To find your personal Passion.

For this task I want to complete my Excellence And Innovation  task to get my badge. This task was about my personal passion. It is about loving animals and I hope I can become a SPCA person. Whats your personal Passion ?

PBS Livestream Assemble : 7

LS2 has been watching the livestream assemble every friday since lockdown and we still continue to watch the livestream from school.We thank the princleble and the staff members for making this likestream happened.Two people from LS2 has gotten their badges. Congratulation to them.

Food Technogel ~ Hot Cakes

LI: To follow a recipe to make hot cakes.

Today we followed a simple recipe about making hot cakes with ice cream and blueberry sause.First we had to make sure had we had all our equipment with us and then we had to grad all our ingerdenets. First we had to mix the flour and the sugar in one bowl, the milk and egg in another bowl and butter in the last bowl.We had  mix them all in one big bowl. We stared to get the batter on the pan. We had blue berries on the other side for our sause.My partner was sulia. We made a good team while we were making the hot cakes.

City Scape Of Paris

LI: To write a description using prepositions 

 

The Eiffel Tower on the right hand side of my city scape. Did you know that the Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous building in paris.The right side of my silhouette their  is the famous Les Invalids next to the Eiffel Tower. March the 31 in 1898 the eiffel tower was open for business. It is very easy to recognize or see because it the tallest building and it is very famous.

I used three cool colour that are light and dark blue and green. When I shaded the three colours I could see the blend between the colours.To get the blend you want you need to dab the colours on your page but not to hard. 

Using Exponents

LI: To learn how to use exponents.

This week we were learning about exponents. Exponents are useful because the example in our DLO shows that it is easier to write 3x3x3. Exponents tells us how many times we need to multiply a number. This DLO shows how we used our knowledge of exponents to collababraalty share our thinking.
