LI: to learn the forehand and backhand grip technique
For the term our Kiwi sport is Tennis. We first started off learning the two grips. The forehand grip technique was putting your dominant hand at the bottom of the racket. The backhand grip technique was two hands holding the racket but the dominant hand is also at the bottom while the weak hand is at the top. We had to do this in partners.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

For this task we had to write the definition of both illegal and legal and the we had to show examples.We also had to write some other site that has legal and illegal images that we could use or not use.

Author Research : Roald Dahl : Reading
LI: attached to comprehension tasks. This task we had multiple task that we could chose from. I chose do the research on Roald Dahl. Sadly he died on 23 November 1990. He has written 34 books and their are some pictures on some books he made. Quentin Blake worked with and she illustrated his books. Roald Dahl has his own website that has the information on the books we written and the information about his life. Link to Website

LI: to learn about our strengths and weaknesses
This week was the last week were going to talk about Respecting ourselves. We recapped on what we did for the pas few weeks. We first played our energiser. Our energiser was that we had to get in groups and the leader of the group had to go to the teacher and get given an activity. Then the leader has to tell their group the activity and complete it. Then later we talked about strength and weaknesses and said what they were and we told our strengths and weaknesses. Later we played Human Knot.

Maori / Maori Words
LI: To learn the basic words of the maori language This we were in the same groups but did different tasks. We were called down to our moari teacher and we recapped the words we learnt over the past two weeks. Then after the recap we added in some new words. Courage and Strength Made Me Win / Writing
LI: to revise the structure of a recount reaffirm the marking criteria.
The structure of a recount is TREE. TREE means Title, Reveal, Events and Ending. We had to write an imaginative recount about winning a sports game. We had to write this imaginative recount is a test condition. We couldn't talk to anyone, or search anything up. First we got time to do some planing then we had 40 mins to write our recount. My total was 28 it was good i will try
my best to do better.

Reading / Book Mark Making
LI: to learn how to make a reading bookmark.
This week for reading we were learning how to make a reading bookmark. For this task we needed to add some reading strategies and add some reading detail to it. Also for this task we had to work in groups. But I was one of the people who didn't come on Monday so I got put in a group with three other people who weren't here. For this task you could put images shapes and do some writing on it.

LI: To Research.
This week our understanding for this weeks maths is to fins the meaning and the function of 21 words that was given to us. Also the words had to do with air planes. We had 40 minutes to complete this activity. We had to make 22x3 that makes 22 going down and 3 going across. We didn't need to find the function because the teacher said that not all the words have functions.

What is a Enterprize and a Business
LI: To Define and describe the terms Enterprize and Business . This terms Inquiry 's understanding is about Enterprize and Business. Business mean trading or someone does something for you and then you return the favour. Enter prize mean a project or undertaking, especially a bold or complex one. Our task was to search as many company we know. But we had to do one hundred to help us with the next task we had to do. For the previous task we had to collaborate in groups of three. What we did : We were practising addition,Subtraction,Multiplication, Calculating area perimeter, Division,and fractions
Strategies : Basic facts,Tidy numbers,place value,repeated addition, rounding and compensating,Written algorithm, and reversing.
Extra : Adding we did time and decimals.Subtracting we did also time and decimals. Multiplication had to do with times table. Division we did grouping or sharing. calculating area and perimeter. Last one Is fractions. For fractions we had to identify and do sets.

Kiwi Can / R.E.S.P.E.C.T /
LI: To Respect yourself,animals, and the environment.
This week we had our first session of Kiwi Can. For this term we have another Theme. Our theme that we were learning about was Respect. Respect means using our manners and honouring people. Then we went into our energiser. The energiser was called Fruity tuity.
For this game we needed to listen carefully for what the teacher was saying. If Mr says Apple we would need to jump forward, if he says banana we would need to turn 1.8 degrees around, and if he said orange we would need to jump backwards. Then we had to get back into our 4 lanes. Then we started talking about Unique.
Unique is when your different to other people and when your special. Then we went into our activity. The activity was called 1 truth 1 lie. For this game we needed to say 1 lie and 1 truth. We would need to see if the kids know which one is the truth. If they get it right they get 1 point. Then we had to get back into our 4 lanes. Then we were talking about what we were talking about before.
