LI: To learn about sound
Today for task 10,we were with nano girl. This experiment was all about super sound, this task was also about making our own xylophone. For this task we needed five pieces of A4 pieces of paper, scissors, and a pencil. Here is the link if you want to make a xylophone yourself. I found this task fun because I got to learn more about sound and got to make my own xylophone. I could also make tunes or pitches different from the other because of the way I cut the tubes I made.
Hi Aftaia,
ReplyDeleteI loved reading you blog post today. Great job on completing you tenth task for the Summer Learning Journey. Your xylophone looks amazing! Adding a link to Nano girl's site was smart because it would be easier for a reader to understand the topic in more detail. I also like how you have added a well detailed blurb which includes points like "what it is" and "what you did" as it make the blog post more quality. I want to say that your work is fabulous! Did you know that musical instruments like xylophone also has science behind them? What was something new that you learnt after completing this task?
Keep up the great work through out the Summer Learning Journey!

Hi Sakshi thank you for commenting on my blog post,I learnt that even thought you have never heard of something before or never done it could be something you're into but didn't know it yet. What was the hardest part of this task for you ?
ReplyDeleteHi Afatia,
DeleteThank you for taking time and responding to my comment as well as for answering my question. I agree, this activity was amazing for the fact that we got a chance to replace things and also try something new. The challenging part in this activity was pouring the water in glasses because I added too much water and then I added almost the same amount again. After that I tried to put it back but it ended up in a mess. Next time I would make sure that I do the pouring water part outside house. Would you be doing the next Nanogirl task? What did you find challenging?
Thank you for the reply!
Keep up the amazing work.

Kia ora Afatia,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Shannon and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.
Wow, your xylophone is super impressive! It looks beautiful, and I like how you’ve included a blurb at the bottom of your picture explaining where to find instructions to make your own and what you learnt from it! Ka pai on a fantastic job!
I’ve never played any instruments bar the recorder but I’ve always wanted to! Can you play any instruments? If so which one(s)? If not, what’s another cool hobby that you have?
Perhaps you could add a video of you playing your instrument so we can hear what it sounds like!
Happy blogging!
Ka kite anō,
Shannon (SLJ)
Thanks for commenting on my blog Shannon,
ReplyDeleteI have played the recorder when I was about five but then stop because I got into more of being a sportsperson, but I still enjoy playing any type of musical instrument, the sport I play is netball and softball. What sport do you play ans what do you like about it ?
Afatia
Hi Afatia,
ReplyDeleteWhat positions do you play in each of those? I never really got into many sports, I did dancing and cheerleading when I was in school. It was cool, I got to be the flyer which is the person who goes in the air in cheerleading, and I learnt how to do handsprings and things like that!
What sort of music do you like?
Bye for now,
Shannon
