SLJ Week 1 Activity 6

LI : To draw or create an optical Illusion.

Today I did my sixth Summer Learning Task, I started by knowing what an optical illusion is. An optical illusion is when your eyes and brain are tricked to show you something else rather than what it actually is. This task showed us how to make our own optical illusion.I created my optical illusion on paper. To do this I needed a pencil, ruler, and a piece of paper. I really enjoyed this task because I got to learn more about optical illusions and how I got to create my own piece of art.

  1. Greetings Afatia,

Woah! Your have made an outstanding illusion. This illusion is really cool, I think you were very smart by drawing it on paper and adding shading as well. These factors make the optical illusion so 3D that it tricked my mind and I had to check twice. Your detailed explanation and tips to making a really good illusion like using rulers to make straight lines was very helpful. Do you know some interesting facts about optical illusions?

You were outstanding! Keep up the great work!

  2. Talofa lava Afatia, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey.

Wow, you have done an awesome job with your optical illusion! I really like that you went the extra mile and did a big one on paper, with lots of straight lines and shading! Why did you choose this illusion in particular? It’s so cool because it looks like a hallway, but also the top of a pyramid depending on what you focus on.

I’m so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the activity because you got to learn from it! That’s great! Thank you for sharing such a descriptive recount of your experience and for doing such a neat job with your optical illusion!

Tino pai and keep up the great work!

    Ngā mihi,
    Elle (SLJ)
