LI: To write a haiku about the summer
For the summer Learning Journey, this is my ninth task for this week. This task was all about the summer. We had to make a haiku about the summer and why we loved doing thing in the summer. How you do a haiku is when you when the first line has five syllables the the middle line has 8 syllables and the last line has five again. I found this task very interesting because I have already done a task like this but i got to refresh my mind about kaiku poems and what their about.
Hi Afatia,
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your blog post today! You nailed it by doing this activity. Great job on explaining about the syllables in a Haiku poem, as it made your blog post more descriptive. I like how you said that writing Haiku poems again refreshes your mind because I felt the same as you. I have also completed this activity and the thing I liked the most is that we can express our feelings by using key words and not actual sentences. What was the thing you liked the most while completing this task?
You were amazing! I am looking forward for your reply.

Kia ora Afatia,
ReplyDeleteFiona here from the SLJ. Great work writing a haiku poem all about summer - ka pai! I really like the background image you have used to bring your poem to life. I love the summer too.
Haiku poems follow a 5-7-5 structure which means that the first line is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables and the third line is 5 syllables.
I think you might have too many syllables in your second line, so if you have time, just go back and check!
Keep up the great blogging over the summer. I can't wait to see more of your posts soon!
Ngā mihi nui
Fiona (SLJ).
Thank you for commenting on my blog,
ReplyDeleteand thank you for spotting that out and I will be sure to change it when I have the time to do so. I also like the background image because when I read out the poem I feel like just staring at the sun before it turn dark and it shows that beautiful shade of summer colors.
