Duffy Role Model Assembly
LI: To understand that there is always an opprtinity to make a bad situation good.
Today Marc Duffy came to our school for our duffy role model assembly, to tell us about how reading can change the whole scene. The story started off with a little boy named fred, he had a very hard child hood growing up, as he was bullied for not knowing how to read properly.
Six years from then his parents moved him to another school due to the fact that he was bullied from not knowing how to read, as he kept keeting bulied he was moved to another school. As he was getting older he started to hang out with the wrong crowd. Due to haning with the wrong crown he was sentence to prison for borrowing cars without returing them, he was in prison for four years.
In prison their was only one teacher, and that one teacher took fred under his wing and taught him how to read. Day and day went on as freds teacher taught him how to read. After being relesed from prison we went on search of finding a job. It was very challenging for him to find a job as he had a criminal record.
He found a job at bunnings and worked his way up until he could start his own journey. He started his own bussniss called Duffy Books in Homes. He lets childred and adults have the oppritunity to read whenever they want. At the end of the story he revealed that the little boy named fred was marc himself. Marcs story proves that reading can make a chang in your life and their is always and opprtinity for people to take.
I found this assembly very true because despite having a hard child hood their is always an opprtinity for you to take and create a better life for yourself just like marc did.

Kokako Infographic
Brochure
Over the last week everyone challenged themselves during the sessions at archery, high ropes, kayaking, raft building, camp cooking, pancake race and team building/orienteering. Our group collaborated to create a brochure that shows others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp. I found this activity fun because I got to advertise the camp ground that let us do all the activties their. I enjoyed helping out the camp we were staying at.

5 Mintues Of Camp
LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp
I went pale as I was hugging the pole that I just climbed up. I could feel the wind strongly pushing myself towards the end of the beam. I started walking with only the rope to hold onto. I felt my soul leaving my body as I walked across the beam. I didn’t look down because I knew I would freeze in fear. Almost reaching the next pole made me want to run but the mud made my job walking across the beam a whole lot harder. I stretched my arm so I could reach the pole at the other end. I sighed a big relief when I had something else to hold onto instead of the rope.
I turned around getting ready to walk half way on the beam so they could lower me down. My fear came back making me unsure of me coming down with only three people holding the rope. I had no choice but to walk half way and come down, so each step going to halfway was scarier than the one before that but I made it. It was time to come down but I looked down from my position and I froze in fear. I could hear a little voice coming from below saying “sit on the beam with your leg facing the trees and your back facing the cabins. I have never felt more safe in a harness. I sat down and faced my feet to the trees. They started bringing me down, and I could feel myself being lowered by the people below me.Being lowed made me feel so safe like I was napping on a bunch of marshmallows.
I reached the ground and I sighed as I felt the comfort of the ground beneath my feet. I felt so proud of myself. It was an experience that I will never forget.
I found this activity fun because I got to express my emotions about what I did and what I acomplished at the duration at camp.
