Gold Attitude : Making A Video About Showing Positive Attitude
This week I have been doing my CARE awards and have been completing it this week. For this task we had to create a video explaining ho you can have a positive attitude. In this video I talked about why it is important to have a positive attitude and how you have a positive attitude when you're with and friend or when you're school. I found this task very intersting because I got to show people how they have a good positive attitude at school or at home or when you go somewhere else
ASB Get Wise
LI: To learn how to be wiser with your money.
Today we had a Get Wise session from ASB with Marlon . First we talked about two main parts of when you have money, it was if you were going to spend or save your money. Second of all we were seperated into groups of 4 and 5. Then Marlon said to us tht we were going to play a game of how to be wiser with our money. Before we started the game Marlon told us the rules and how to play the game. First we had to think about how we were going to spend our money. Another rule was that we were able to use a credit card but if we used it we had to pay it off when he circled our team name on the board. If we were late or we didn't see Marlon circled our team name we will be fined an extra 100 dollars.
The One main thing he was always telling us was to stop think and make a good decision, spend or save. Each group that played in the game started with $1800 for a holiday trip to Fiji. Another thing we had to be careful of when we were playing the game was if we were going to spend alot or spend little to sav more of the money we had, and we had to use our money wisely because we only had $1800 dollar and nothing else. When we were playing the game we had to think about our passports,accomodation,Travel Insurance, and the activitys and food.
Our decisions were going to depend on how wise we were with our money. When we were asked to pay our passports,accomodation,Travel Insurance, and the activitys and food we had make sure we had enough money for the next part of the game. My group paid the 200 for the passports because if we were to pay it later we didn't know how much it could be if the price had gone up higher. We paid 500 for the economy flight which was the cheaper option. We also paid for the 500 dollar accomodation, which we were going to stay at a nice resort, we had another option which was to paid for the food for the whole week which was another 100 dollars meaning accomodation was 600 dollars if we paid for the food.
Then we paid for the Travel Insurance which was 300 dollars, and we use the crdeit card so we could use the money from the bank.We had to pay it off when he circled our team name on the board. If we were late or we didn't see Marlon circled our team name we will be fined an extra 100 dollars. We paid back the bank the money and then a accident happened and that made each person from each team was in the hospital. To find out which team will have to pay the hospital bill we rolled a dice. If you got number 1,2,3,4 you will have to pay the bill but it you got 5,6 you didn't. My group was the only one who didn't have to pay the bill but everyone else did, but since they had travel insurance the bill from the bank was coverd by the bank. I enjoyed this time learning about money wise becuase it taught me alot about how you be wiser with your money.

A Moment In Time
LI: To use the language features and structure of published poem to help use write our own poem.
To describe what we heard, what we saw, how we felt and what we wondered we used our senses,adjectives and adverbs.Ajectives are words that decribe words and adverbs are when you decribe words. I found this interesting because I got to use powerful words that decribed how I felt and it decribed my emotions.
Setting
To do this we looked at an image and thought of 10 words that described and showed what we could see. Once we had thought of the adjectives or adverbs we used our smart searching skills to help us find synoymns that made our descriptions clearer. I found this interesting because I got a reminder about setting and how powerful a setting can be when you use the right type of words.
ATV Challenge
LI: To strengthen connections to technology.
We are using the processes of technological practices to design and build a rubber band- powered rover that can scramble across the floor. I found this interesting because we had to use the the first three steps of our design process. We used identify, investagate, and design to complete this challenge.

Sir Isaac Newton
LI: To use your smart searching skills to find out who Sir Isaac Newton was and how his work connects to simple machine.
This week for reading we were given a collaborative task to find out what Sir Isaac Newton had to do with simple machines. We found out Who he is and why his work is important to him. In our DLO we added one simple machine he created called the Pulley. A simple machine is a machine that makes our lives easier.
Something I found interesting about Sir Isaac Newton was that his mother wanted him tio become a famer but he refused to become a famer.
My favourite part of this activity was learning about Sir Isaac newton because I never really understood much about him because I didn't take his work serously but now I know more about him and his work.
