They are tapa whanau - family, tapa Hingeroa - emotions and mind, tapa wairoa - religious/belief and tapa Tinana - your physical wellbeing. In this DLO we had to talk about what Hauora would look like if you were an athlete competing in the olympics.

Hauora And Olypians
Atheletes that are able to get into the medal range work hard physically and mentally. The body must be fit and the mind need a good mindset in order to do the best you can. It is important for you you celebrate you succes, but it is also eqally imporant that you able to celebrate the less succsesful times aswell. It is the learning you use fromlosing to make you stronger physically and mentally. It is having the belief in your self and the support from your whanua that keeps you motivated. People who are able to make it into the medal ranger has a goodmindset, fit, strong, winners, and they are able to lead their contry into succes. People who don'tmake it into the medal range loses motivation, confidence, and insprastion, but if they took the learning part from their losses they are able to become better with a goodmindset, support, balance, and self belief and is able to become stronger and wiser.

Mindfulness Reflection 1
LI: To understand the meaning behind the pause breathe smile program.
This week we had our first session of the Pause Breathe Smile program. Our learning was based on having a calm mindset. We were introduced to this program by first defining what the word mindfulness is. Then we defined it and shared our different definitions with others.
After talking about mindfulness we were introduced to the red zone and the green zone. They are two different zones. The red zone is when you feel stressed, anxious, distracted and others. The green zone is when you feel calm, relaxed, peaceful, curious, clear, balanced, content and engaged.
We were balancing our mind set by forgiving bad things that happened in the past and calming our mind down and focusing on the present. To do this we sat in a circle and listened to the bell while breathing in and out, this helped us relax and focus on positive things.
I enjoyed this session because we learnt about having a positive mindset and about being mindful of others. During this session I learnt how to Pause, Breathe and Smile and calm my mind.

Y Chart
LI: to make inferences about the events in the text using clues provided by the author.
Our focus was based around inferring what athletes were thinking, seeing and wondering during the Olympics. In order to do this, we looked at an image which had information that we could point out to form our inferences. By looking at the images, we could see that the athletes had completed the swimming and are taking an after photo. Some inferences we made for feel/see were: the athletes might have felt nervous and cold, they could have been proud of what they accomplished, seeing their names of the scoreboard and how they felt determined to win.
The image shown on the DLO was of Violet Walrond and other athlete competitors. Violet Walrond was a young athlete who competed in the Olympics at the age of fifteen. She was the youngest and first ever swimmer in New Zealand to use the crawl technique. Violet also was the first female to compete in the Olympics, representing New Zealand.

SUPER FINGERS Competition
LI: To recall our timetable quickly.
The instructions of this game is that we need to write a phrase on a white board or piece of paper. Then you will need to roll 2 dice which we will multiply by, and the first person to call out the answer will take one of the letters out. The first person to have all of the letters rubbed out will win the game
The process we did it in was similar to a netball game, draw, quarter finals, semi finals, and lastly finals. To run this competition smoothly we created a bracket which showed who will versus who. Our bracket was now even so later in the game we did a wild card who were Vayan and Micah.
In pairs we challenged each other to see who was faster at answering the questions. The winner would go against the winner from another person. Whoever wins goes up against another winner, and it will keep going until there are two people left, which would be the finals.
The two people facing each other in the finals were Afatia and Chris. I enjoyed this game very much becasue I got to learn my time tables faster.
Afatia was the winner of the finals.

This week for maths, our learning was based on the Olympics. Our first challenge was about Michael Phelps. This task was about Nastia Liukin. The question sayed The Olympic sport of gymnastics is judged with a point system. Nastia Liukin, an uneven bar champion scored a disappointing 16.725 in Bejing putting her in second place. Her opponent beat her by 0.001 of a point. The Bronze medal winner's score was a 14.975.What was the Gold medal winners score? By how much did Nastia score over the Bronze medalist? We had to find out how much of a point nastia opponent score was, and we also had to find out how much did Nastia score over the bronze medalist. I found this task intersting becase we learn new way of trying to solve different math equations.

This first one shows the Python coding for a flashing heart. It flashes bewtween a small heart icon and a large heart icon. In tech I found this task very intersting because this was the first time we have been coding in the Python mode.

Life
Today we had a writing task with the whole classroom for Abstract Noun poems. An abstract noun is one that refers to an idea, quality or state.A metaphor is a comparison of two things, saying one thing is the other without using ‘like’ or ‘as’.An example of abstract noun is the poem myself and my group put together by working together and learning from each other. For this task we also needed to know what the five senses are, they are smell, touch, taste, hear, see.In this activity we learnt how to understand what a metaphor is and how we use them writing. We worked in groups to collaborate on our task. This task was made into a powerful eye catching DLO.Something we found interesting about doing this task was learning how to properly structure a abstract noun poem.
