Hiwi The Kiwi fishing for the Future

LI:  To be responsible in the sea and when fishing. We met Mark

What we learnt : Today we had hiwi the kiwi come to talk to us. We learnt about fishing for the future. What they mean by that is do not go fishing for fish that Legal to the law. When you are going fishing or going on a boat you must put a life jacket before going on the boat you are safe if anything happened to or the boat If something goes wrong and you fall off it might be too late to put on your life jacket.

We also learnt some fish sizes like a Snapper being 30 centimetres. If you catch a small fish it should be let go because its too young. If its a big fish you also should let that go because it might be breeding babies. A lot of sea birds are dying now because of plastic. Sea Birds don't know that they are eating plastics and they don't care what colour the plastics because sea birds

 think plastics are fish.

We also learnt some tips when catching a fish. For example when holding a fish you should use a wet towel because if you use your bare hands it damages its scales. You should also use salt water when washing a fish cause it might get bad rot really fast.

We also sang some songs, listened to minstrel, answered questions, and did challenges.
