Summer Learning Journey l Poetry Slam - 2

This Week I completed week 2 task 1 of the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to do both of the task for today. I did the Kick Start and the Step It Up Challenge of the Poetry Slam task for today.

This poetry slam was a bit different from the previous one because we were making a poet using kennings. Kennigns describe what a person, idea, or object is or does. Each line has a simple phrase either a nount + a noun or a noun + a verb. They work like riddles you have to try and figure out what the poet is talking about or what it is descibing.

The Kick Start challenges asked the partipants to write a poet using kennigns to describe a animal that reminds you of summer. I chose my cat Tigress because he loves to sit in the sun and just relaxe and loves to sleep in the summer just like me and my cousins.

The Step It Up challenge was to make a another poem but we had to write it about summer. We first looked at a poem but written about winter but we were writing ours about summer. I had fun doing this task because I reminded me how fun summer is.

Summer Learning Journey l Vector Art

Today i have completed week 1 task 5 for the summer learning journey. This task was about creating vector art. I decided to do the step it up challege so I can challeneg myself more. This task required me to draw my hero ( someone who inspries me ) and to use one of their quotes to create a DLO.

The person I chose was Nelson Madela. Nelson Madela was presented the noble peace award in 1993 for peacefully destorying the araptheid against others and he was fight for equality for all those different colors.

To create a really good piece of vector art start with the basic and easy shapes of what you are trying to recreate and then try to draw as much detail as you can to make it look realistic as possible.

I enjoyed this task because I got to show others who inspire me and why they inspire me.

Summer Learning Journey|E hia ngā mea?

Today I have completed week 1 task 5 of the summer learning journey. This task was about the Te Reo lanaguage. Since their are two parts of the task each day I did the step it up activity. Part of this task was to help people remember the phrase "E hia ngā mea?".

This task included the participant to find 10 picture of things you will see during summer, for example : seagulls, watermelon, ice cream ect.

After finding all ten pictures I needed to find out the translation for each picture in maori. After gathering all the information I put it on a slide deck to make my DLO (digital learning object).

I had fun going this task because i got to learn knew words for the Te Reo launage.

Summer Learning Journey | Spread The Word

Today I have completed week 1 task 4 of the Summer Learning Journey. I wanted to give myself a challenge so I decided to do the step it up challenge. This task was about commenting on five people blog.Using the template provided we were given questions to help us comment on others blog.

The questions were, a blogpost that is from your friends, a blogpost that is from another school, a blogpost that made you laugh, a blog that you found intersting, and a blogpost that has amazing art.

I found this task very intesting because it shows me what others in our cluster does during school time.

Summer Learning Journey | Art Colouring Book

LI: To use Google Art Coloruing Book to explore and use creative thinking.

Today was the first day of the Summer Learning Journey. We completeed our first task of the Summer learning journey. Our task was to colour the pictures using the Google Art Colouring Book site that was given to us. This task was simalar to last years task so it was very easy to connect back to the activity making the task easier for those who partipated in the previous Summer Learning. This Google Art Colouring Book was based on NASA.

I enjoyed this task because most of the pictures shows people who did this task what NASA does and what most people who were in NASA did.
